ezGEL

Physician-led ezGEL at Gambhir M.D. A soft gel prepared from a small sample of your own blood.

“ezGEL is made entirely from you. We take a small sample of your blood and process it into a soft gel. There is nothing synthetic in it. People hear the word filler and think of the approved products we use every day. ezGEL is not one of those, and it does not behave like one. We would rather explain the difference than let the word stand.”

About ezGEL

ezGEL is a soft gel prepared from your own blood. It is sometimes called an autologous plasma gel. “Autologous” simply means it comes from your own body. There is nothing synthetic in it. The process begins with a small blood draw from your arm. We spin the sample to separate its parts, then carefully process the plasma, the protein-rich part of your blood, into a soft gel. That gel is combined with a platelet-rich concentrate, also from your blood, into the final treatment.

Patients most often ask about ezGEL for the under-eye area and for overall skin quality. It is a soft material and your body absorbs it, so anything it adds is temporary, generally a few months. Some patients return for repeat treatments. What is reasonable to expect is worth talking through rather than reading off a page.

A visit takes about 60 minutes. We draw a small sample of your blood, process it while you wait, and then place the gel with a fine needle or a soft, blunt tube called a cannula. We use numbing for your comfort. Downtime is usually short: some swelling, bruising, redness, or tenderness for a few days. Because ezGEL comes from your own body, the risk of an allergic reaction is very low.

An Honest Word on the Evidence

ezGEL is prepared from your own blood using a cleared processing system. The gel itself is not an FDA-approved dermal filler, and using it to treat the face is an off-label use.

The published research is limited. Most of what is known comes from small studies, and they differ in how the gel is prepared and how results are measured, which makes them hard to compare against each other or against approved fillers.

Where published evidence is thin, judgment matters more. Drs. Gambhir will talk through whether this is a reasonable thing to try for you, and what to expect and not expect from it.

ezGEL is gentle in concept, but it involves drawing, processing, and re-injecting your own blood. That makes a sterile, licensed medical setting essential: single-use supplies, careful handling, and a physician’s training. This is exactly the kind of treatment that belongs in a doctor’s office.

ezGEL is not the right tool for everyone. At your consultation, we look honestly at whether ezGEL fits what you are looking for, and if a different treatment would serve you better, we will say so.

A treatment made from your own blood depends entirely on careful preparation, skilled placement, and a sterile medical setting. Your treatment is performed by physicians, in a physician’s office, by a team that has cared for patients since 2005, and who will tell you honestly whether ezGEL, or another option, is the better choice for you.

Only your own blood. We process a small sample into a soft, natural gel. Nothing synthetic is added.

Approved dermal fillers are regulated products with known behaviour, most often made of hyaluronic acid. ezGEL is prepared from your own blood and is not one of them. It is not FDA-approved as a filler, and what it adds does not last as long.

Anything ezGEL adds is temporary, generally a few months, because your body absorbs it. Some patients return for repeat treatments.

Most people are comfortable. We use numbing, and the blood draw is like a routine lab test.

Only a small sample from your arm.

Very unlikely. Because ezGEL is made from your own blood, the risk of an allergic reaction or rejection is very low.

Usually short. Some swelling or bruising for a few days.

The under-eye area is one of the areas patients ask about most. Whether it is a reasonable choice for you is something we would look at together at a consultation.

Often a short series gives the best result, with repeat treatments to maintain it. We will give you an honest plan.

It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for people with certain blood conditions or who take blood thinners.
